I think the Builder assignment really puts our planning to the test. It will show us how well we have planned our website. I feel that our designs can only be as accurate as our plans, and that ineffective planning really shows in our work. I think the assignment lets us know how important plans are, and how they can change a final design. Making amendments to our plans is also important, as I feel that our actual designs can never be completed like our plans 100%. I know that my planning wasn't as accurate as I had thought it was. I noticed a few errors in my pixel measurements. I also found that the colours that I had chose looked different when I converted them into RGB. I feel that all these errors are learning us that even the little things can change the outcome of our websites.
I also found that my website doesn't work on several web browsers, which I am quite surprised at. This learned me that not all browsers are the same. I am unsure of how they are different though, this will be something we should all look into.
John's session was very helpful. I am glad that it was extended, though not on purpose, as we was able to sort more things out. He found several errors in my referral work, which learned me that it is necessary for more than one read through your work. We were baffled by some charts that wouldn't rotate to how Steve needed them to be. It took us a long time to figure out how to do this, although in the end it was me that found out the problem and solved it, which I am quite proud of.
I am also quite proud of the website I have completed so far, even if it's a little... different than how I imagined the site to look. I feel that I am also making good progression with my presentation work. I found Myfonts was useful to find out what my selected person specialised in. I found out that he was famous for his sans serif fonts, although he created several display and serif fonts, as well as a symbol font.
I hope that the trip to Huddersfield went well, and I am looking forward to the London trip as it lets us look at some actual designers work.

I have noticed that small things are needing to be amended from the screen designs too, how we planned things to look and how they actually appear in Dreamweaver can be pretty different sometimes. I think that this was to be expected though as it is our first real attempt from working to a screen design but I am sure that we will improve on this as the course progresses.
