This week has been quite an eventful one. Wednesday started with the guy behind Purple giraffe. He came in and showed the class what he had been up to since he had finished the course that I am attending. His work was quite advanced to what I am working at right now. It was very inspiring to see what difference CSS can make. I enjoyed looking at the Flash site, although there was much less Flash work involved in this site. I also like the logo design of his band's website. It looks professionally made and is relevant to the site. I am inspired by his Photoshop work, as it is far more advanced than what I could ever make.
The information he shared was very useful. I learned what his work life was like, which is totally different to the Design Mechanics. This has showed me that each company will be different in their approach to work and discipline.
I regret asking fewer questions than I would have liked to, although I do feel that the answers would of been too advanced for me to understand anyway. Did anyone understand the UFO language that he mentioned?
Thursday went better than I had expected, although I knew what was wrong with my presentation when Steve had given us the intro. I was well prepared for the presentation and I feel that I was a lot calmer than I had expected to be. I also feel that I didn't hesitate as much. I do need to work on my presentation forms though, and more technical information is a definite must. My presentation was also a lot shorter than I had expected, although by adding more technical terms I should manage the limit. How did everyone else's presentation go?
Over this week I will be finishing off my evaluations for both my assignments. I will also be adding more technical terms to my presentation and working on my leaflet. Has anyone thought about creating a leaflet that folds? I am going to create mine so that it can fold like a booklet.
Here's a quick preview of what it looks like at the moment. Feedback appreciated, although I know several changes to make straight away.
