Here is an example of my final logo. It does need some minor changes, but they won't be noticeable. I feel that the swirls represent the surrounding. I also feel that the colour scheme suites the logo quite well. I think that I will need to include my other corporate colour into the logo somehow. Any ideas?
My other chosen colour is green.
Wednesday was spent by designing my website. I was annoyed that I had misunderstood what Steve had meant when he said last week he wanted our screen designs completed. I thought he meant final designs in sketchbooks for Thursday afternoon. What he really meant was to have the screen design fully digitalised for Thursday morning. This meant that I had to totally change my time plan around. I suppose this is a good thing, as it gives me practice at time planning. This example shows that everything won't go the way you want it to. Although the shortage of time, I do feel that my design is quite good. Here is a shot of what it will look like:
I feel that this web plan will need some work on it. I don't feel the colours are the same as what I have chosen in my logo. I will have to look into this. The navigation bar also needs some alignment work on it. Anything else?
Wednesday also introduced another surprise feedback meeting with my group and Steve, although we were more prepared this time. I am glad that he is constantly asking us to remember things, as my memory is shockingly bad anyway. It helps us to improve our knowledge of the tasks at hand, as well as what elements to include for merit and distinction work.
Thursday was pretty much a get on with it day. I spent time on my logo design most of the day receiving feedback and making amendments. I was supposed to have done this on the Wednesday but I had to change my plans. I feel that my logo is almost at 100% complete and I feel I have made sufficient effort in this. I wouldn't have done my logo designs any other way. I feel that I have taken the best approach to create my final logo.
I also looked into my corporate colours and the use of the logo in my sketchbook. I have given my logo a minimum size of 15mm, although I feel this may be too small. What does everyone else think? I also gave my logo a 20% extrusion zone around it. I feel that this is a good size as there is a good deal of space between my logo and the edge of the paper.
I have also started some business card designs which I feel are quite good. They are in full colour which will cost a lot but I feel it is necessary to add colour to attract people. Here are a few of my sketchbook images, although not in very good quality:
Our feedback group was rather... quiet. I feel that we explained ourselves on Wednesday and had nothing to mention in Thursday's.
Over the holidays I will be doing all of my sketches and design work. I will probably not have access to a computer until the third week of the holiday as I am going away for two weeks. This gives me the chance to capture loads of inspirational and cultural work.
