Oh no! Photoshop has arrived!

This week has been quite hard as I am now having to learn two pieces of software for the course. I’m finding them quite hard to learn, especially Photoshop as its much more complex to the design programs I am used to. Although I am getting a basic idea of how PageMaker works I still have trouble with certain features of it.

For my assignment I have been using Photoshop to create a few images for my website….with great difficulty. I think I had about five people surrounding me trying to teach me how to use it! To be honest though I think the images that I created were quite good for my first attempt.

Watching Diane’s presentation was good as it let me see what other students that had done this course had come up with. It also gave me an idea as to what options are available after this course. Her Flash work was very inspiring. My assignment work is getting better, mainly due to Steve’s lectures about professionalism. I think that my feedback group is well balanced. To me it seems like Jamie is the leader of the group. Whenever there’s discussion work to be done he always seems to be the person that wants to go first. I also find this inspiring as he wants to show off his work instead of hiding it away until last.

Overall I think that this week has been fun but hard. Learning Photoshop was fun even if it’s so complex and I can’t use it very well. Also getting called into Steve’s office often for mistakes made in my work or blog makes me feel sad. I feel like I am letting Steve down and he has helped me so much.

To improve myself for next week I think I will start to double check everything, even simple things like changing my name into a capital “M” and a capital “P” (which took me three times to get it right!) I must also learn some aspects of Photoshop at home to better prepare myself for the next time I need to use it.
I want to thank Steve and everyone else who helped me with Photoshop!
