Workload Increase

On Wednesday, when college had opened back up from the half term break, the tension in the class was quite low. We all knew that our assignment scores were to be put up after break. Most people were fine, including me. That is, until Steve showed a list of the mistakes that he had found within several assignments. Immediately after, through break, the tension had increased dramatically. I was getting quite worried about failing my first assignment.

We headed back to the class after our break to receive our scores. As we approached closer to the door everyone seemed to slow down, dreading to look at the results. I glanced at my result to find that I had failed one part of it. I was gutted. But I was glad that wasn’t the only one. There were more of my peers that had failed than I had imagined. I was also quite surprised that no-one had received a merit.

John saves the day
I was quite upset that I had completed the assignment but not passed it. I felt like I had let my peers down. John came over and told us that we could get our work back and improve on it to achieve a pass. I was glad! I had no idea that we could get our work referred.

Thursday was also quite eventful, after receiving our second assignment of the semester. The workload had increased but we also had a longer period to complete these. I feel that the second assignment is similar in a lot of ways to the first one we did. The third will start the introduction of Adobe Photoshop, which I have had no experience with. I will be glad to learn the basics of this software in the future.

I am enjoying my new feedback group; team Delta, as I had the chance to interact with two members that I had hardly spoken to through the first 6 weeks. I am happy now that I have worked with almost everyone in the class now, and the class as a whole is becoming more involved together.

I have also learned some new features in Blogger, like adding pictures at the side. I can show off a bit of my artwork off now. I will be glad when I have some work from inside college to upload onto here. I also had a change around with the colour schemes, which I didn’t know how to do before. I am eager to learn more features of Blogger so if anyone would like to make me a comment with suggestions of improvements then please do.

My spare lesson with John also went well. I learned not to worry about my grades. He also helped me approach Steve with something that had bothered me. I am glad now that I had discussed this with Steve. He also showed me how to improve my Blogger. I will be editing my old posts to make them even more interesting. I will also be adding more screenshots etc of my work as this helps me evaluate myself and to learn from my mistakes.

I was quite worried when one of my Delta members had passed out on me! I had no idea what had happened. I am glad that he is fine now and that we can laugh about this incident.

If you want any help doing some fancy things with Blogger, just pop me an email. I'm sure you'll have it somewhere, but if you don't just send Steve an email and he'll give you it.

Nice artwork by the way.

I am happy with the new groups as well, even though we were pretty quiet and didn't have much to say for the first one I think that it should be a good group to be in as we progress through the assignments.

hey, thanks for the compliment. I like your work too, I can see you enjoy your manga which is how i started out. I produced my drawings by hand to start off with, I used Adobe Illustrator mainly and then Photoshop for final touches.
