This week has been a mixed week for me. I feel disappointed in the amount of work that I have done this week in my self study, even though I have met the goals set by Steve. The week started with me setting some work to one side for self study, which was obliterated by the fact I had to work. Pain. I started with my essay on Picture This on the Sunday, but soon felt the urge to move onto my other assignment. I also feel that I am starting to use Blogger more effectively, which is something I have been trying to come to terms with.
I also had just purchased another Flash tutorial (sorry Steve), that was urging me to complete it, which I will post up when it’s completed. Pain. I also found out on the Monday that I can no longer get my Eczema prescription free anymore, and with my Eczema getting worse, I had no choice but to pay £20 quid! Pain. A good part was the fact that I have finally passed my driving test. I felt really shocked and pleased with myself.
I learned a great deal in Wednesdays lecture. The lecture was on colour shapes, which was very helpful towards my assignment. I had searched for a colour shape chart on the internet, which I wanted for my sketchbook. I then realised that because it was an image of the whole spectrum, the printer would not be able to print it as it should look, due to the fact that printers are based on a CMYK ink cartridge, which meant that colour would be lost.
I am enjoying my feedback group at the moment, as we are working well together. We also managed to complete all the tasks that Steve had set us, without any major errors. I was quite pleased with the group. Steve also seemed impressed, which I am glad of.
In these next assignments I have took my action plan into perspective, which will help me get a better grade if I stick to it. I have also created a decent time plan that suites me and my timetable, which I didn’t take seriously enough on the last assignment. The deadline for next week has a big pile of work for me that I will need to do in my own time. I hope I don’t get called into work! I found some inspirational work during class that i have stuck into my book. The links are on my "useful links" area. I also found some intreguing work in a magazine I bought called Imagine FX. It comes out every month (I think) and some of the work inside is qute impressive.
I have my first assignment to hand back in from its referral, although I haven’t touched it since I received it back, which I am not pleased about. I will have to make a start on it to get it out of the way of my other assignments.
During my self study time I have been looking at some images that have been created in Photoshop for inspiration. I found several pieces that I found intriguing and I will place a link to the site in my useful links. Most of the images I searched through were based on image manipulation, which is what my assignment is about. I can’t wait to start Photoshop even if I am completely new to it.
I have also settled down with “StressMaker” as I copied and edited my Picture This essay with no problems at all. I am quite proud of this as I struggled with it the first time I used it.
